The Writing Cottage
Our homestead came about in 1873, and that makes for some unusual buildings still standing around. We have a blacksmith shop, a limestone chicken coop (only slightly dilapidated), and a marvelous “summer kitchen,” with which I am absolutely in love. I have been determined to make that little building into something useful, but simple–something that can be maintained and continued to be passed down and utilized by our future generations. So, rather than lighting a fire in the old cooker, I’ve decided to leave it rustic, but re-purpose it as my very own Writing Cottage.
